This edition from Winston Publishing, copyright 1928 has line drawings and full color plates from Clara M. Burd. This tale stands the test of literary time. Raised by her transcendentalist parents, Alcott also grew up among many intellectuals of the day such as Emerson, Hawthorne and Thoreau. Writing under the pen name of "A.M. Barnard", she wrote novels for young adults early in her career. She was a feminist, an abolitionist, and remained unmarried. Her novels still delight today and this illustrated edition helps bring the story to life.
