This is a wonderful collectible and rare hardcover. 1933 Scribner Publishing. PLEASE NOTE; upon inspection, inside back cover endpapers and seen occasionally throughout, there is the signs mild staining, most likely from someone getting the top outer page edges wet leaving a stain seen only occasionally and most apparent to endpapers inside back cover. Having seen this before, it reminds me of someone carrying the book in the rain and light rain hitting the top outer edge of book. It is not severely damaging to pages but worth noting for detail and description. There is only a hint of foxing to a few pages inside and there is light natural tanning to most pages from age. Overall the pages are clean and unmarked. Brown hardcover boards with full color illustrated frontispiece. The binding is tight and straight. The hint of foxing inside is equivalent to books of this age and does not interfere with print. Full color illustrations are still clean and bright.
The hardcover boards are very good overall given age, with light shelf wear. The front features the original color paste-down of Tiny Tim.
In this edition, the author reviews the children of Dickens. Full color illustrations bring the characters to life. Illustrations by Jessie Willcox Smith. From Tiny Tim, to Oliver Twist and the Artful Dodger, to the four Kenwigses and more, the characters that delighted and inspired us live on.
