This is a near fine (almost like new) hardcover with dust jacket. Reprint Edition from Castle Books, circa 1990's. This copy is still crisp and clean inside and out. The inside pages are crisp and clean. The binding is tight and straight. Blue hardcover boards under jacket are also near fine with barely a hint of shelf wear and feature grey quarter trim. The accompanying dust jacket is still clean and shiny with only very light shelf wear. Medium octavo book size or 6.5" x 9.5" with 752 pages.

Originally compiled in the 1883 by the editors of Century Magazine, the volume features firsthand accounts, strategic plans and eyewitness narratives. It was compiled and written by the commanders and soldiers who actually planned and fought the battles.
Volume 3 - The Tide Shifts, focuses on the critical middle years of the war from 1862-1863 and tracks shift in momentum between the Union and Confederate forces.
