This is a near fine (almost like new) hardcover with dust jacket. 1984 Dorset Press edition. This copy is still crisp and clean inside and out. The inside pages are still crisp and clean. The binding is tight and straight. Blue hardcover boards under jacket are also near fine with only a hint of shelf wear and feature black cloth quarter trim with gold lettering along spine. The accompanying dust jacket is very good with only very light shelf wear. Medium octavo book size or 6.5" x 9.5" with 159 pages not including biographical notes.

The maps offer a wealth of factual information and statistical detail. Depictions of the origins of war are followed by maps of all the individual campaigns and strategies for the battles at sea and in the air. In addition to tracing military history and logistics, the atlas illustrates political, diplomatic, economic and social aspects of the war.
