This is a good hardcover with an acceptable as present dust jacket. Circa reprint 1950's Modern Library. This copy is good inside and out.. The inside pages do have light natural tanning from age but are clean. The binding is tight and straight. NOTE: we consider this book to have bibliosmia or the scent of old books caused by the chemical breakdown of paper, glue, and ink over time. We don't consider it "foul" but noteworthy. Red cloth hardcover boards feature title/author lettering in gold set in black block, likewise on spine. The red hardcover boards are good, mostly clean but showing wear edges/corners. The dust jacket is acceptable as present, showing extensive wear, including small tears edges/corners. Horse and wagon illustration front with author/publisher lettering. Title lettering along spine. Standard Modern Library crown octavo book size or 5" x 8" with 190 pages. Modern Library logo design front and back endpapers.
Parnassus on Wheels by Christopher Morley was published in 1917. The title refers to the Mount Parnassus of Greek mythology, the home of the Muses. Parnassus on Wheels was Morley's first novel. It is a story about a fictional traveling book-selling business.
