This is a near fine (almost like new) larger coffee table style hardcover with dust jacket. 1998 Time Life Books. this copy is crisp and clean inside and out. Inside pages are still crisp and clean. The binding is tight and straight. Blue hardcover boards under jacket are also near fine with only a hint of shelf wear. The accompanying dust jacket is still clean and shiny with only very light shelf wear corners/edges. Larger coffee table style book, quarto book size or 9" x 11" with 320 pages including index.
Originally published as a 3 volume set titled Echoes of Glory, this is one book ONLY from the set, Illustrated Atlas of The Civil War. The book is a comprehensive and detailed history of the four primary theaters of the Civil War. Contents include; The East, The West, The Far East, and The Coast. There are 140 detailed maps and "Order of Battle" sidebars that name the commanders and strength of opposing forces. The book also introduces readers to lesser campaigns often not covered. That includes warfare along the Atlantic Coast, Far West campaigns in New Mexico and along the Red River. Famous engagements are detailed such as Antietam, Gettysburg, Sherman's March to the Sea, and of course Appomattox.
