This is a very good hardcover. 1962 Walter Black Publishing. This copy is very good inside and out. The inside pages are very good and clean. The binding is tight and straight with fine sewn (not modern glued) binding. Grey hardcover boards are also very good with only a hint of shelf wear and feature gold lettering along spine in black block. Crown octavo book size or 5" x 8" with 135 pages. ESG design endpapers front and back.

This is the Walter J. Black, 1960 edition. Walter Black published a series of two-story volumes from 1940 through the 1960's.

The Case of the Velvet Claws, published in 1933, is the first novel by Erle Stanley Gardner featuring the iconic lawyer-detective Perry Mason. The book introduced Mason and his secretary Della Street. The plot involves Mason defending a woman named Eva who is caught in a blackmail scheme involving a gossip tabloid and a congressman. Soon this leads to murder and a complex case where Mason must navigate lies, a web of deceit, notably without a courtroom trial.

The Case of the Curious Bride, originally published in 1934, was the fifth book in the iconic Perry Mason series. The novel follows Mason as he defends Rhoda, a woman accused of murdering her con-artist ex-husband who mysteriously reappeared
