This is a very good hardcover. 1960 Walter Black Publishing. This copy is very good inside and out. The inside pages are very good and clean. The binding is tight and straight with fine sewn (not modern glued) binding. Grey hardcover boards are also very good with only a hint of shelf wear and feature gold lettering along spine in black block. Crown octavo book size or 5" x 8" with 135 pages. ESG design endpapers front and back. This copy contains the original Walter Black pamphlet.

This is two Perry Mason novels, The Case of the Shapely Shadow and The Case of the Fiery Fingers, two crime fiction mystery novels in one edition. They were written by Erle Stanley Gardner. This is the Walter J. Black, 1960 edition. Walter Black published a series of two-story volumes from 1940 through the 1960's.

The Case of the Shapely Shadow features a secretary who hires Mason to help with her boss's blackmail. But, soon her boss ends up murdered and she is accused of the crime. A blackmail scheme, a mysterious suitcase, and a "shapely" secretary, Janice Wainwright, who becomes the prime suspect, forces Mason to defend her.

In The Case of the Fiery Fingers, a night nurse, Nellie Conway, asks lawyer Perry Mason for help regarding a glass vial containing four pills. Nellie's employer, Her employer promised her money to give the pills to his bedridden wife, Elizabeth. When Mason has the pills analyzed, however, they turn out to be nothing more sinister than aspirin.The case becomes bizarre when Nathan (the employer) accuses Nellie of theft. Things escalate further, drawing Mason into a twisting web of intrigue that involves murder, deception, and a journey to New Orleans to untangle the truth
