This is a very good 3 volume set of hardcovers. 1954 Greystone Press. This set is very good inside and out. The inside pages of each volume is remarkably clean and pages actually still crisp. The bindings are all tight and straight featuring fine sewn binding (not glued) for durability and aesthetics. Hardcover boards on all 3 are also very good and bound in red with gold design front cover. NOTE: there is fading along the spines of all 3 somewhat obscuring the title lettering on spine but still legible. There is a minor "bump" to front right bottom corner edges on the hardcover front boards but considered minor given age. The hardcover boards are clean and very good overall. Each volume is medium octavo book size or 6.5" x 9.5".
The Animal Kingdom is subtitled The Strange and Wonderful Way of Mammals, Birds, Reptiles, Fishes and Insects. A New and Authentic Natural History of the Wildlife of the World. It was originally published by the Greystone Press in 1954. It is a classic 3-volume natural history encyclopedia spanning over 2,000 pages. The set has been edited by Frederick Drimmer with contributions from American Museum of Natural History experts. The volumes offer a comprehensive details of the habits, anatomy, and origins of global wildlife. They are finely illustrated with black and white illustrations and an occasional color photo.
