This is a very good hardcover with dust jacket. 1968 Outdoor Life Publishing. This copy is very good inside and out. NOTE: there is dust spotting along outer top page edges, see photo, but does not carry over to inside pages. The inside pages are very good and very clean. The binding is tight and straight. Burnt orange hardcover boards under jacket are also very good with only very light shelf wear. The accompanying dust jacket is very good and clean, still holding shine with light shelf wear including a crease to inside front jacket flap. Crown octavo book size or 5" x 8" slightly smaller than standard book size, with 655 pages including index.
Sportsmen's Guide to Game Animals by Leonard Lee Rue lll is subtitled A Field Book of North American Species. The book describes in exhaustive detail the behavior in the wild of North America game animals. The author spent many years living in their habitat and studying them at close hand. The author was a photographer and naturalists and the detailed text is accompanied by many photos to illustrate habitat, tracks, behavior and more. Adding to the informative text is an appendix that includes a listing of game animals as they occur in each state along with copies of Boone and Crockett Club scoring charts and instructions for measuring and scoring trophies. It is a wonderful vintage guide.
