The Frontiersman The Real Life and the Many Legends of Davy Crockett by Mark Derr brings Crockett to life within the context of his times. The book traces the development into public figure and mythic hero. This biography presents Crockett as a real person, a man of wit and intelligence, congressman and soldier, and how he became a permanent part of American culture. The book is well researched using historical documents and archives to draw an accurate picture and separate myth and legend from truth and history.
