This is a near fine (almost like new) set of 3 paperbacks. Each published in the 1980's Little Brown Publishing. Each copy is still crisp and clean inside and out. The inside pages on each are crisp and clean. The bindings are tight and straight, NO creasing along spines. Each cover is still clean and shiny with only a hint of shelf wear. Each is standard trade paperback size or 5" x 8" each.
This is a set of C.S. Forester's Horation Hornblower historical fiction novels. Horatio Hornblower is a fictional officer in the British Royal Navy during the Napoleonic Wars and the protagonist in the series written by Forester.
The series of Hornblower tales began with the novel The Happy Return (US title: Beat to Quarters), published in 1937. This set includes the first in the series, U.S. titled Beat to Quarters. The other two novels are Ship of the Line, and Lieutenant Hornblower.
