This is a near fine (almost like new) 2 volume set of hardcovers with accompanying slipcases. 1986 Third Printing Library of America. This set is still crisp and clean inside and out. The inside pages are crisp and clean. The bindings are tight and straight. Bound in royal blue cloth, each hardcover is near fine with barely a hint of shelf wear. The accompanying slipcases are near fine with only very light shelf wear. Each volume is crown octavo book size or 5" x 8". Fine binding appointments included fine sewn bindings for durability and aesthetics along with attached blue satin bookmarks.

Contents Volume One 1801-1809 include: The First and The Second Administrations of Thomas Jefferson, Index, Chronology and Notes. The set is a remarkable and acclaimed history known for its detail and insight. It was first published in nine volumes from 1889 to 1891, and was out of print until The Library of America reissued it in two volumes: the First volume on the years of Thomas Jefferson’s presidency and the Second devoted to those of James Madison. This set includes both volumes.
