This is a near fine (almost like new) 2 volume set hardcovers with accompanying slipcases. 1985 Fifth Printing Library of America. This set is still crisp and clean inside and out. The inside pages are crisp and clean. The bindings are tight and straight. Bound in brown cloth, the hardcover boards are also near fine with barely a hint of shelf wear. The accompanying ivory slipcases are near fine with only very light shelf wear. Each volume is crown octavo book size or 5" x 8" each. Fine binding appointments in this set include sewn not glued bindings for durability and aesthetics and attached brown satin bookmarks.
France and England in North America by Francis Parkman was originally published between 1865 and 1892 in seven volumes. It narrates a history of the European colonization of North America with focus on the military struggles between France and Great Britain. This edition published in 1983 by Library of America is a complete 7 volume edition published in two volumes. Notes and chronology in the edition provided by David Levin.
