This is a near fine (almost like new) hardcover with accompanying slipcase. First Printing 1990 Library of America. This copy is still crisp and clean inside and out. The inside pages are crisp and clean. The binding is tight and straight. Bound in royal blue cloth, the hardcover boards are also near fine with barely a hint of shelf wear. The accompanying ivory slipcase is near fine with only light shelf wear. Attached royal blue satin bookmark. Library of American logo illustrated endpapers front and back. Crown octavo book size or 5" x 8" with 1199 pages.
This is Ulysses S. Grant Memoirs and Selected Letters, Personal Memoirs of U.S. Grant (two volumes in one edition) along with selected letters 1839-1865. It includes an Appendix with Notes to the Doctor written while completing the memoirs at Mount McGregor, June-July 1885. Also includes is Chronology and Notes on the texts. The volume presents the text of the Personal Memoirs of U.S. Grant originally published in two volumes 1885-86 and a selection of letters, order, and reports written by Grant from 1839-1865.
