This is a very good hardcover with dust jacket. 1992 Henry Holt Publishing First Edition. This copy is very clean inside and out. The inside pages are actually still crisp and clean. The binding is tight and straight. Gold hardcover boards under jacket are also very good with barely a hint of shelf wear and feature green quarter trim. Medium octavo book size or 6.5" x 9.5" with 429 pages.

Boone came to popular attention in 1784 with the publication of Kentucye, the narrative of his adventures by John Filson. Boone had scouted the Appalachian west for settlement, surveyed and helped build the Wilderness Road, and led settlers against the Shawnee. The author draws from popular narratives, public records, scraps of documentation from Boone's own hand, and recollections gathered by 19th century antiquarians. The author also addresses the relationship between native Americans and settlers a formative period of history. The book is a definitive account of Daniel Boone, his life and adventures.
