This is a near fine (almost like new) 3 volume set of large hardcovers with accompanying slipcase. 1986 Chelsea House Publishing. This set is still crisp and clean inside and out. The inside pages are crisp and clean. The binding is tight and straight. Each volume is finely bound in maroon cloth. The accompanying slipcase is near fine with barely a hint of shelf wear and also bound in maroon cloth. Each volume is quarto book size or 9" x 11".
American Art Analog covers the years 1688-1930. Volume One is 1688-1842. Volume Two is 1842-1874. Volume Three is 1874-1930. Originally there was an accompanying supplement, this set does NOT contain the supplement. This compendium covers over 800 American artists and includes bibliography and index. Each artist has a bibliographic essay. In addition, there are over 1000 color plates between the volumes along with 40,000 auction sales records. The reference details provide price histories and artists details.
