This is a very good hardcover. 1986 Longmeadow Press Edition. This copy is still crisp and clean inside and out. The inside pages are crisp and clean and the "this book belongs to" page is unmarked as shown in photo. The binding is tight and straight. Color illustrated hardcover boards are also very good with only a hint of shelf wear. Super octavo book size or 8" x 10" with 226 pages.
Originally published in 1877, Black Beauty by Anna Sewell tells the story of a horse who also narrates the story. It follows Black Beauty from his idyllic childhood to a working horse in London. the story tells of both cruelty and kindness that found Black Beauty through his life. This is a wonderful reprint by Longmeadow Press that features black and white sketches along with beautiful color prints by Lucy Kemp Welch.
