This is a near fine (almost like new) leather-bound hardcover. 1977 Franklin Library First Edition, First Edition Society Limited Edition. This copy is still crisp and clean inside and out. The inside pages are crisp and clean. Bound in green leather, the hardcover boards are also near fine with barely a hint of shelf wear. Binding tight and straight. Fine binding appointments as expected from Franklin Library include; Smyth sewn fine binding, hubbed spine, silk moire fabric endpapers, outer page edges tipped in gold, and attached satin bookmark. Medium octavo book size or 6.5" x 9.5" with 170 pages.
This edition from Franklin Library of Thornton Wilder's The Alecstiad or A Life in the Sun and Drunken Women has been finely illustrated by Daniel Maffia. It includes a foreword by Isabel Wilder.
