This is The Selected Letters of William Faulkner. It features a color frontispiece of Faulkner. William Faulkner had a deep desire for personal privacy and his efforts to achieve such are well known. In the author's intro he confronts this desire by asking if Faulkner would want a book such as this to be published. The author/editor, Joseph Blotner, concludes that during the last decade of Faulkner's life he knew the question was academic.
