This is a very good hardcover with dust jacket in archival sleeve. 1954 Hastings House Publishing. This copy is very good inside with a good jacket. The inside pages are still clean with only a hint of light natural tanning from age. The binding is tight and straight. Yellow cloth hardcover boards under jacket are good, showing mild shelf wear but solid and clean. The accompanying dust jacket is good, it is contained within a clear archival sleeve and appears to have some wearing but good overall as present and preserved. Larger hardcover, imperial octavo book size or 8" x 11" with 128 pages.
Amishland by Kiehl and Christian Newswanger are a father and son duo who produced drawings, paintings, and etchings of the life of the Amish. Here, there are simple graphic vignettes of Amish life. Also featured are prints that characterize the Amish life, style and hardiness. It is a charming book the appeals to not only those who love modern art forms but those interested in rural life and folk customs.
