This is a near fine (almost like new) SMALL hardcover with dust jacket. 1990 Warne Books, Penguin Publishing edition. This copy is still crisp and clean inside and out. The inside pages are crisp and clean. The binding is tight and straight. Hardcover boards under jacket are illustrated in full color matching dust jacket illustration and are also near fine with barely a hint of shelf wear. The accompanying dust jacket is clean and shiny, also with barely a hint of shelf wear. NOTE: this is a very small hardcover, 18mo book size or 4" x 6".
This is a beautiful newer edition of Flower Fairies of the Wayside, one of the Flower Fairies books. The publisher has been able to reproduce Cicely Mary Barker's original artwork highlighting the delicate brushwork, subtle shading and fine detail. The Flower Fairies books were first published beginning in 1923 and brought the artist international acclaim. Charming illustrations coupled with botanical accuracy has captivated readers for generations.
