This is a very good hardcover with dust jacket in protective mylar sleeve. 1985 Facts on File history books. This copy is still very good inside and out. The inside pages are still very good and clean. NOTE: previous owners library stamp embossed bottom edge of title page. The binding is tight and straight. Gold hardcover boards under jacket are also very good with only a hint of shelf wear. The accompanying dust jacket is very good and well preserved under clear archival sleeve. Royal octavo book size or 8" x 10" with 272 pages including index. Illustrated maps front and back endpapers.
In Search of the Trojan War by Michael Wood was based on the BBC television series and is a wide-ranging study of the complex archeological, literary and historical records which make up the background of the tale of Troy. The author visited all the key sites and the book contains a detailed text and extensive photos in both black and white and color. The author also comes to a new conclusion about the identity of the legendary city itself, the city which he believes was Homer's Troy.
