This is a very good 6 volume set of hardcovers with accompanying slipcase. 1965 World Publishing. This set is very good inside and out. All 6 hardcovers are very clean inside.The pages are clean and actually still crisp. The bindings are tight and straight featuring fine sewn (not glued) bindings for durability. 5 of the hardcovers are bound in white boards each with partial silhouette of Lincoln that when placed in order create full Lincoln silhouette. The 6th volume in the set is a Bible, bound in black hardcover boards. Each volume is standard octavo book size or 6" x 9".
Lincoln's Log Cabin Library contains the following hardcovers; Lincoln's Fireside Reading, Robinson Crusoe, Aesop's Fables, The Pilgrims Progress, The Life of Washington, and a Bible. The significance of the collection illustrate the formative and early education of Lincoln before his political career.
While the books are a curated collection, they represent the types of early 19th-century literature on the American frontier.
