This is a good and solid hardcover, NO dust jacket, jacket missing. 1954 Illustrated Junior Deluxe Edition Nelson DoubleDay. This copy is good inside and out. NOTE: there is light fading along spine and light wearing to hardcover top edge along spine, see photo. Rest of hardcover boards front and back are very good and clean. The inside pages only have a hint of light natural tanning from age and are very clean. Octavo book size or 6" x 9" with 320 pages.
Deluxe Edition books were a series of children's books published from the late 1940's through the 1960's. Originally published by Nelson DoubleDay Publishing, there have been multiple publishers over the years. Some of the versions feature multiple stories and most of those are abridged volumes. Generally, the volumes featuring single stories are complete.
This is Kidnapped by Robert Louis Stevenson. The classic adventure stories on the high seas is one of the staples in children's literature. This edition has been illustrated by Tom O'Sullivan with black and white sketches and a full color frontispiece.
