Our Last Mission A World War Two Prisoner in Germany by Dawn Trimble Bunyak contains a foreword by Arnold Krammer and an appendix of prisoner poetry. It is a tale of courage where the author recounts the experiences of her uncle, Lawrence Pifer who survived 14 months of internment as a prisoner of war in Germany during World War Two. As a radio operator and ball turret gunner on the American B-17 bomber Slightly Dangerous, Pifer was shot down on March 4th, 1944. His fellow crew members were killed and he was captures and taken to German Stalag Luft camps. Enhanced with photos and maps along with an appendix of prisoner poetry, this is an oral history of POW experiences in World War Two.
