This is a near fine (almost like new) hardcover with accompanying slipcase. Fourth Printing 2004 The Folio Society. This copy is still crisp and clean inside and out. The inside pages are crisp and clean. The edition is finely bound in durable sewn binding which is tight and straight. Olive green hardcover boards are also near fine with barely a hint of shelf wear and feature Nero illustration front. The accompanying dark green slipcase is very good and solid with only very light shelf wear. Medium octavo book size or 6.5" x 9.5" with 222 pages including index. Illustrated maps front and back endpapers.
Originally published in 1970, this is Nero by Michael Grant, 4th printing, 2004 Folio Society. It is a historical narrative of the Roman Emperor. It is a biography that penetrates the ancient myths and gives a balanced picture of the man and the leader.
