Reconstruction America's Unfinished Revolution 1863-1877 by Eric Foner was drawn from extensive research into manuscripts, official archives, personal papers and previously untapped resources. This edition contains a new Intro by the author. The book expands and redefines our understanding of the violent and controversial years after the Civil War. That legacy still shapes American society. The book received the Francis Parkman Prize from The Society of American Historians in 1989.
