The Final Days by Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein is a portrait of what went on behind the scenes during a grave crisis in the history of the American presidency. The authors chronicle the events leading to the resignation of President Richard M. Nixon. It is a dramatic narrative of the President, his wife and family, to his senior staff, the Cabinet, leaders of Congress, The House Judiciary Committee, and the Supreme Court. The book takes readers inside the rooms where Nixon's tapes were made and where the President and his lawyers and staff committed themselves to desperate tactics to save his presidency. The author's previous work, All The Presidents Men was awarded a Pulitzer in 1973.
