Stonewall Jackson The Man The Soldier The Legend by James I. Robertson Jr. is a biography based on meticulous research into little known manuscripts, unpublished letters, articles and more. It is a complete portrait not only of Jackson the military strategist and general but also of the man, his orphaned background, determinations, and convictions. The author, a renowned Civil War scholar, stated that this " is not a biography of a great general, it is the life of an extraordinary man who became a great general".
