Jeb Stuart by John Thomason is a portrait of a pivotal person in history. The author personally interviewed some of the Stuart family and had access to papers and letters previously unseen. It is a rare insight into the man in his both quiet home life and in the crash of battle. The biography vividly recreates the Old South and the end of an era. At the center of many of those events was Jeb Stuart. Stuart once said if he were to die he hoped it would be in a calvary charge. On May 11, 1864 at the age of 32, that is what happened.
