Fly Boy A True Story of Courage by James Bradley is an extraordinary story of courage during World War Two. Over the remote Pacific Island of Chichi Jima, 9 American flyers, Navy and Marine airmen, were sent to bomb Japanese communications towers. They were shot down. One of the nine was rescued by a U.S. Navy Submarine. The others were captured and held prisoner. Then they disappeared.
When the war was over, the American and Japanese governments covered up everything that had happened on Chichi Jima. Records were sealed, lives of 8 Flyboys were erased and families were left to wonder and grieve. This book reveals the story of the men. The author presents history in all of its savage complexities and after nearly 60 years reveals the fate and decisions that few can imagine.
