This is a very good hardcover with dust jacket. 1985 McGraw Hill Publishing. This copy is still crisp and clean inside and out. The inside pages are still crisp and clean. The binding is tight and straight. Ivory hardcover boards under jacket are also very good with only a hint of shelf wear and feature maroon cloth quarter trim. The accompanying dust jacket is clean and still shiny with only very light shelf wear. Medium octavo book size or 6.5" x 9.5" with 1089 pages. Illustrated maps front and back endpapers.

Published beginning in 1976, Page Smith's major history series is "A People's History of the United States. The series is an eight-volume narrative covering American history from the American Revolution to the New Deal. The acclaimed series focused on the American people, politics and society.

This is Volume Seven of the series, America Enters the World A People's History of the Progressive Era and World War One. Two towering figures, Theodore Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilson, hold center stage in America Enters the World. Beginning with the sudden arrival of Roosevelt in the White House, the turbulent period from 1901-1921 was marked by war between capital and labor and the resulting progressive movement. It was also the period of the First World War. With Roosevelt's confidence in American strength, he led the nation onto the world stage. But ironically, it would be Wilson who who entered the war in Europe only to see victory followed by disillusionment and isolation.
