This is a near fine (almost like new) hardcover with dust jacket. 2003 Farcountry Publishing. This copy is still crisp and clean inside and out. The inside pages are crisp and clean. The binding is tight and straight. Full color illustrated hardcover boards match the dust jacket illustration and are also near fine with barely a hint of shelf wear. The accompanying dust jacket is clean and shiny with only very light shelf wear. Royal octavo book size or rectangle 9" x 9" with 256 pages including index.
Lewis and Clark's Green World by A. Scott Earle and James R. Reveal is subtitled The Expedition and Its Plants. Both authors are botanists that take readers along the path of the Lewis and Clark Expedition day by day. They focus on the plants new to science in 1804-1806 but also tell the story of the expedition. They described the plants that Lewis observed and collected. Each species in the book is appears in sequence of its first appearance, with color photos, botanical info, and cultural info about how Native Americans or the expedition used it. The book is lavishly illustrated with beautiful color illustrations of the plants along with the detailed text.
