This is an exceptionally good set of 2 volume hardcovers with original accompanying dust jackets and slipcase. Second Edition, 12th Printing 1974 Potter Publishing. This set is in very, very good condition. The inside pages on both volumes are still crisp and clean. The bindings are tight and straight. Green hardcover boards under the dust jackets are also very good with barely a hint of shelf wear. The accompanying dust jackets are still clean and shiny with only very light shelf wear. The original accompanying slipcase is very good and solid but does show light shelf wearing. This is a large set with each volume being quarto book size or 9" x 12" with Volume One having 688 pages and Volume Two having 824 pages including index. Illustrated maps of London inside front and back endpapers of both volumes.
This set of The Annotated Sherlock Holmes contains The Four Novels and The Complete 56 Short Stories, Complete. It is illustrated with maps, diagrams, coats-of-arms, photographs and drawings by Charles Doyle, Sidney Paget, Arthur Twidle, Frank Wiles, and numerous others. Here in two volumes is every word that Sir Arthur Conan Doyle ever wrote about the adventures of Sherlock and the Doctor, and four complete novels. They are arranged chronologically from Holme's first case in 1874 when he was a University student.
