This is a very good hardcover with dust jacket. 1980 Dodd Mead Publishing. NOTE: there is dust spotting along outer page edges (see photo) but does not carry over to inside pages. The inside pages are actually still crisp and clean. The binding is tight and straight. Maroon cloth hardcover boards under jacket are also very good with only a hint of shelf wear. The accompanying dust jacket is still clean and shiny with light shelf wear. Medium octavo book size or 6.5" x 9.5" with 638 pages. Illustrated maps front and back endpapers.
On The Road with John James Audubon by Mary Durant and Michael Harwood used the journals of Audubon to follow his trail and travels and their journey spanned over 13 months. Audubon left an extraordinary record of his travels between 1803 and 1843. Their journey using Audubon's records, essays and letters as their guide took them from prairies to to great rivers of the heartland, bayou country, cities and more. This account of their adventures is written in the form or a journal. People, places, birds, wildlife and more are presented in a display of past and present. Working back and forth between time, the authors present their narrative to bring the legacy of Audubon back to life.
