This is a very good hardcover, NO dust jacket, jacket missing. 1969 DoubleDay Publishing. This copy is very good inside and out. The inside pages are actually still crisp and clean. The binding is tight and straight with only ONE very minor issue, between title page and first blank page there is a hint of page separation but still tight to binging. Hardcover boards are bound in maroon with gold eagle and lion illustration front and gold lettering along spine. The hardcover boards are very good with only very light shelf wear. Super octavo book size or 7" x 10.5" with 636 pages including index. Illustrated maps front and back endpapers.
Battle Over Britain by Frances K Mason is subtitled A History of the German Air Assaults on Great Britain, 1917-18 and July-Dec. 1940, and The Development of Britain's Air Defenses Between the World Wars. The book has been meticulously researched with German material edited by Martin Windrow. The author is retired R.A.F. and vintage photos bring the text to life. The book is divided into three parts; Preparation for Battle, The Battle and Survival. The end section of the book is dedicated to detailed illustrations of military aircraft in the battles and how they evolved.
