This is a very good larger hardcover. 1985 Atheneum Publishing. This copy is still very good inside and out. The inside pages are still crisp and clean. The binding is tight and straight. Red hardcover boards under jacket are also very good with only a hint of shelf wear. The accompanying dust jacket is clean and still holding shine with light shelf wear at corners/edges. Imperial octavo book size or 8" x 11" with 128 pages including guide.
Seasons of Splendour by Madhur Jaffrey is subtitled Tales, Myths and Legends of India. It is superbly illustrated with watercolor illustrations by Michael Foreman. Arranged in sequence as they might be told at religious festivals during the course of the Hindu calendar year, which starts in April, each story is prefaced by an intro in which the author recalls incidents and anecdotes.
