The binding is tight and straight. Black hardcover boards under jacket are also near fine with barely a hint of shelf wear and feature gold lettering along spine. The accompanying dust jacket is still clean and shiny with only very light shelf wear. Super octavo book size or 7" x 10" with 1061 pages.
This is the 1992 New Edition of The Oxford Dictionary of Quotations, Fourth Edition, which has been edited by Angela Partington. The edition contains over 17,000 quotations from 2500 people of all times and places. The first edition was originally published in 1941. Each edition contains update and new information. It has a useful key work index and expanded information on authors and particular quotations.
