This is a very good hardcover with a good dust jacket. 1962 Oxford Clarendon Press. This copy is very good inside and out. The inside pages are very clean and the only markings we saw is previous owners name neatly written inside front cover first blank page. The binding is tight and straight. Navy blue hardcover boards under jackets are also very good with only a hint of shelf wear and feature gold title/author/publisher lettering along spine. The accompanying dust jacket is good, clean with light shelf wear and fading/tanning along spine. Octavo book size or 6" x 9" with 504 pages including index and 7 additional pages featuring illustrated maps at the end of book.
The Whig Supremacy 1714-1760 by Basil Williams is one of the Oxford Clarendon Press series on The History of England. This is the second edition with revisions by C.H. Stuart. The book holds an established position as the most widely used introductory survey of the England of the first two Georges. It recounts events and and traces the course of domestic and foreign policy. It also describes institutions, literature and art during that period along with social life.
