This is a near fine (almost like new) 7 volume set of hardcovers with accompanying original slipcase. 1982 Motts Media. This set is still crisp and clean inside and out. The inside pages of all 7 volumes are crisp and clean. The bindings are tight and straight. The hardcover boards of each volume features a reproduction of the original titles illustrations on the front and the hardcover boards are also near fine with barely a hint of shelf wear. The accompanying slipcase is near fine with only a hint of shelf wear. Each volume is standard octavo book size or 6" x 9".
Out-of-print for over 125 years, the original McGuffey's Eclectic Readers are considered educational classics. The books are world renowned for their teaching of reading. In this edition, the true spirit of the original readers is captured with no major content changes. The books were Christian centered teaching through the integration of faith with learning. Only an occasional punctuation or hyphenating is adjusted in this reproduction to preserve authenticity.
