This is a good, large hardcover bound in leather. 1882 Riverside Press, Houghton Mifflin Publishing. VOLUME TWO ONLY. This copy is good and solid inside and out. On first blank page, previous owners name neatly written in script, "F.B. Wiley New York City No 130". There is light natural tanning to pages from age but they are very good and clean. Bound in leather, there is wearing to the cover as shown in photos. Most wearing is along corners/edges. Embossed design front and back with gold title lettering front which is very good, intact and clear. Hubbed spine accents the fine binding. All three page edges tipped in gold gilt. This is a large coffee table style book, quarto book size or 9" x 13" with 439 pages.
Originally published in 1882 as a two volume set, this is VOLUME TWO ONLY from Houghton Mifflin Riverside Press. The book is finely and extensively illustrated throughout by various artists. Volume Two picks up where Volume One left off with Tales of a Wayside Inn Concluded. The volume includes notes and index. It features marbled endpapers and reenforced binding.
