Henrich Heine was a German poet. His verse and prose are distinguished with satirical wit and irony. He was a member of the Young Germany movement and his radical political views led to many of his works being banned by German authorities. He spent the last 25 years of his life as an expatriate in Paris. He is often best known for his phrase "Where books burn, so do people". This edition has been selected and translated with an Intro by Louis Untermeyer. It is finely illustrated by Fritz Kredel.
