Stories From Tennessee has been edited by Linda Burton. It is an anthology of short stories representative of Tennessee literary daughters and sons. The editor defined a Tennessee writer as someone born there who lived there long enough to be influenced by the language, matters, and culture of the state. The book also provides brief bios of the writers contained. The book is divided into three sections; The Early Years, The Middle Period, and The Modern Era. Authors such as David Crockett, Allen Tate, Peter Taylor, Shelby Foote, Robert Penn Warren, Thomas Mabry, Robert Drake, David Madden, and more fill the pages. Over 20 stories in all.
