African Rifles and Cartridges by John Taylor recounts the authors experiences in Africa as a professional hunter. His extensive knowledge of firearms and ammunition is detailed. Some of the most interesting parts of the book recount his travels throughout Africa. Taylor lived in relative isolation during his hunts which often totaled 2-3 years. He was eventually forced to leave Africa for various reasons that included poaching and personal reasons. His time in Africa encompassed from the early 1920's to the outbreak of World War Two. The book is nicely illustrated by E. Stanley Smith.
