This is a very good leather-bound hardcover. 1999 Palladium Press Special Edition for the Theodore Roosevelt Classics Library of Hunting and Outdoor Adventure. This copy is still crisp and clean inside, BUT PLEASE NOTE: the leather binding along the bottom of the spine is worn, taking off some of the gold design along the bottom of the spine (see photo). The deer design and gold lettering on the spine is unaffected. The rest of the brown leather binding is very good front and back and features gold deer design and lettering front. The inside pages are still crisp and clean. The binding is tight and straight. All three pages edges tipped in gold gilt. Super octavo book size or 7" x 10.5" with 186 pages.
Ranch Life and The Hunting Trail by Theodore Roosevelt is an account of the years 1884-1996 that Roosevelt spent ranching and hunting in the Dakota Badlands. It details time spent in the Elkhart Ranch where Roosevelt was a deputy sheriff hunting horse thieves and his time spent hunting wild game. The book is splendidly illustrated with drawings from Frederic Remington. It is a wonderful depiction of the Western Frontier.
