This is a very good set of two hardcovers with accompanying slipcase. 1945 Grosset & Dunlap Publishing. Both volumes in the set are very good inside and out. NOTE: inside both volumes on first blank page there is previous owners bookplate affixed AND inside front cover of Grimm's Fairy Tales there is a scuff where assumed bookplate removed. Otherwise both volumes are very clean inside and out. The pages on both are very good and clean. the bindings on both are tight and straight. Both have full color illustrated endpapers. Andersen's Fairy Tales is bound in green hardcover boards and Grimm's Fairy Tales bound in red, each with color illustrated pastedown front. Both hardcover boards are very good and clean with only very light shelf wear. Each volume is illustrated with illustrator details below. Each volume is octavo book size or 6" x 9". The accompanying green slipcase is very good with light shelf wear but solid all around.
This set of fairy tale books include Andersen's Fairy Tales and Grimm's Fairy Tales. The set was published in 1945 by Grosset and Dunlap. Fritz Kredel illustrated Grimm's Fairy Tales and Arthur Szyk illustrated Andersen's Fairy Tales. Favorites like The Fir Tree, The Ugly Duckling, The Wild Swans, The Princess and The Pea, and many more are found in Andersen's Fairy Tales. Grimm's Fairy Tales include The Golden Bird, The Goose Girl, The Frog Prince, The Queen Bee, Rumpelstiltskin, Rapunzel, The Raven and many more.
