This is a near fine (almost like new) set of 6 hardcovers with dust jackets. Volume One was published in 1976 and the rest followed with Volume 6 being published in 1986. All four volumes in the set are near fine or almost like new. Inside pages on all are still crisp and clean w no marking seen. The bindings are tight and straight. Black hardcover boards under jackets are also near fine with barely a hint of shelf wear. The accompanying dust jackets are still clean and shiny also with only a hint of shelf wear. each volume is super octavo book size or 8" x 10" each.
Great Passenger Ships of the World by Arnold Kludas is a series that profiles the leading details of all vessels over 10,000 gross tons built spanning the years 1858-1986. Specs, photos and details accompany the vintage photos of each vessel. Titles included are; Volume One 1858-1912, Volume Two 1913-1923, Volume Three 1924-1935, Volume Four 1936-1950, Volume Five 1951-1976, and Volume Six 19077-1986.
Volume Six updates the previous volumes and is divided into three sections; Part One gives the final fate of all ships from Vol. 1-5 that have been lost or scrapped. Part Two describes the careers of vessels that were still in service, and Part Three details all new vessels over 10,000 tons built since 1976.
