This is a very good set of three hardcovers with accompanying slipcase. Revised Second Edition 1967 20th Printing. Each volume in the set is in very good condition. The inside pages are are still crisp and clean and only show a hint of light natural tanning from age. The bindings on all 3 are tight and straight. Black cloth hardcover boards of each feature the "ring and eye" image front with gold lettering along spine and all three are very good with light shelf wear. The accompanying dust jackets are facsimiles of the originals and are showing shelf wear along edges/corners ALONG with SIGNIFICANT fading along the spine. The dust jackets are considered good as present and overall good given age. The accompanying slipcase is very good and solid/clean with the original red paste down on front. Each volume still has the original illustrated map attached inside back cover and each map is VERY good with only a hint of wear. Each volume is standard medium octavo book size or 6.5" x 9.5".
This 3 volume set of J.R.R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings includes The Two Towers, The Return of the King, and The Fellowship of the Ring. Each volume in this set still contains the original attached map at the back of the book as published. Collectible set for any Tolkien fan.
