This is a very good large coffee table style book. 1987 Abrams Publishing. This copy is still crisp and clean inside and out. The inside pages are crisp and clean, bright and colorful. The binding is tight and straight. The edition is bound in fine sewn binding for durability. Padded faux-leather cover feature gold design and lettering front and spine and is also very good with only a hint of shelf wear. Attached satin bookmark. All three pages edges tipped in gold Large book, quarto book size or 9.5" x 12" with 484 pages including index and credits.

Endpapers front and back feature Nat Geo logo design. 20 chapters chronicle the amazing and dedication of Nat Geo to bring readers into the vast subject from nature to anthropology to space, machines, expeditions, oceans, mountains and so much more. The edition begins with an Intro and Chapter One begins in 1888 to 1900 "A Society for the Increase and Diffusion of Geographical Knowledge". The book moves through the years up to 1988 covering everything from natural disasters to expeditions, archeology, war and conflict, space, and more.
